What I’m reading 
A bit about the Greek historian Thucydides, who helped establish what history was – war, politics, and great leaders, who were all men. This narrow view is on display in the Jan. 6 hearings. To watch them, you’d barely remember that the attack on the Capitol took place at the height of a terrifying global pandemic. I went back to Thucydides to remind myself that we don’t have to ascribe to patriarchal ways of thinking, which are old – very old.
